Mark Staley's interest in food as a path to better health began when he was 25 while suffering some serious digestion problems. He made the discovery that perhaps the food he was eating was contributing to his poor health. He has studied plant based nutrition extensively over the past 30 years and his teachers have included Dr. T Colin Campbell, Cornell University, author of The China Study and featured in the film "Forks Over Knives” and Dr. Joel Fuhrman, author of Eat to Live and Disease Proof Your Child.
He completed his training as a Health Coach in 2010 with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's Health Coach Training Program and has studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts including Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; and Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University and John Robbins, author of Diet for a New America and The Food Revolution and his son Ocean Robbins, creators of the Food Revolution Network committed to healthy, sustainable, humane and conscious food for all. Mark has studied for over 20 years and continues to practice yoga and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as E-RYT200. He provides continuing education classes and workshops to other teachers and can be a lead trainer of a 200-hour teacher training program. Meditation is the foundation for Mark's personal well being and he incorporates the principles of meditation in all that he do. To simplify, breathe and calmly listen even during life’s challenges. His teachers include Thich Nhat Hahn, Adyashanti, Pema Chodron, and Kimberly June .
